A bionic human is someone who has integrated robotic parts into their body.

There are many reasons why a human would want to integrate mechanics into their body, such as replacing debilitated ligaments (such as a dead arm or leg), or simply for vanity. As such, these prosthetics are prohibitively expensive, and deservingly so.

Bionic humans are not allowed to participate in any legitimate sports or events, such as the Olympics or soccer. Bionic humans are not a huge segment of the population, but nothing is really preventing bionic humans from creating their own sports leagues at the same time.

Those that use bionic parts for vanity are typically scrutinized in the general public, although they are glamorized in certain magazines, akin to using steroids. Those that use bionic parts for quality of life (insofar as not being able to use an arm after a stroke), are the only ones that get off without being looked down upon.
